Thankfulness

With conviction I write this post today. As a new mother, I have found myself hitting my knees in prayer pretty frequently here lately and I am so thankful that God is there to answer my prayers. My prayers are most definitely not answered like I would like them to be everytime. Sometimes the answers are hard. When I laid down at nine thirty last night and found myself still wide awake at one am, I didn't get the answer to my prayer yesterday to sleep good last night. But today in the midst of the yawns and a sleepy headache, I found peace in my day with Caroline even though she had a tummy ache and cried most of the morning until she could poop. I am so thankful to God for pulling me through the past four months that I struggled with postpartum depression. The days that I was too busy to pray, too busy to read His word, too busy to even thank him... He still loves me. Just wanted to thank Him for the things he has given me.

Shop till you Drop!

I feel as if my posts might be sounding like a broken record because we are always at nana's or with nana, but what can I say? We have a great nana who loves to be with us and we are so thankful for her. Friday night we spent the night with nana while daddy was at work so we went to visit Molly Kate again. We had a blast eating pizza and C sure did "talk" to everyone. I think she liked to hear her voice echo in the house.

This morning we played for a while. She made some pretty serious faces and did some serious yelling.

Since my dad had to work and my brother wasn't home, nana made a trip with us to Chattanooga (our favorite place) to eat at Big River Grille and shop a little. Ever since Kyle and I started dating we have always went to Chattanooga at least 3-4 times a year because there is so much to do there and it's not too big of a city.  Nana and I got the Chicken Mac n Cheese bowl which is what I always get. :)

This woman is my best friend, hands down! We always get into trouble shopping for C. Lots of trouble. Notice our abundance of noisemakers on her carrier... She is NOT a fan of long trips.

And then ended our trip with a Great American Cookie and icee. We were at this same place when I was 7 months pregnant with Caroline and I got the exact same thing. It won't be long until I'm sharing it with her!

Tomorrow I am on call for surgery so I feel like our weekend is a little short. I hope your weekend is spent with ones you love as well!

Tater Sack

This post coming to you from my lunch break.. short and sweet! Just had to share a sweet pic of Caroline and her daddy. He would kill me if he knew I posted this. This is where I found them when I left for work this morning.

We officially started unswaddling this week because I know she likes sleeping on her side. I was very nervous the first night but she did fine. By fine I mean no different than her normal night. Since we like to keep our house cool at night I invested in a Halo sleep sack and it has been the best thing! She loves being warm and cozy in it and I don't have to worry about her smothering. Anyways I can't wait for the weekend!

Four Months Old

Happy Four Months, Caroline Page!

15 pounds, 26 inches long
Wearing 6 month clothes
Blue eyes, light brown hair
Smiles all the time!

Lots of smiles and laughs at her four month old checkup!

Lots of new things are happening at four months old. C prefers to be sitting up at all times. She is very good at sitting up with a little assistance from us. About a week ago we tried feeding her a little rice cereal and she is finally getting the hang of it. We tried to feed her some sweet potatoes before bed with the hopes of her feeling more full at night with little success. Ha. So we are just easing her into baby food day by day. Nothing has changed in the nap department. She still takes her thirty minute naps during the day with me and sometimes she will sleep an hour or two. We are still struggling at night with the same story, waking up for one feeding after 5-6 hours but not going back to sleep. Her eating has improved and she is taking 4-5 ounces every 4 hours now. We have figured out that she has quite the friendly personality and will smile at everyone who talks to her. She is becoming very fun to play and interact with.

As of now I (not Kyle) have decided that she might be an only child. Everyone tells me that my mind will change in 3-4 years, but unless we are living 5-10 miles from my parents (which probably won't ever happen) I do not plan on having another child. Life on little sleep is not very easy, let alone just life with a baby. I never had sleep problems until I had Caroline, but I think I am just such a neurotic, worrisome mother that it keeps me from resting. The amount and different kinds of sleep medication I have tried is alarmingly surprising. Anyway, we never know what the future holds but I really do not see myself having another child, even if there is a chance he/she would sleep. Lol!

We celebrated C turning four months old at Maters! She was so good and ended up passing out in my arms. Since it was a Friday night, nana wanted C to come spend the night with her and let me come the next day to get her. Since she loves her nana so much and is even better behaved for nana, we didn't mind at all. This is actually the third time she has spent the night with my mom without me...call me what you want but it is so refreshing to get some rest.

Our little family. 6/19/2015

Speaking of Maters, here is her actual first trip when she was 6 weeks old!

We have come a long way since then! We got some new cotton headbands this month.. the bigger the bow, the closer to heaven! ;)

She eats either carrots or sweet potatoes once a day. We have to pretty much get her naked while she's learning or else it gets pretty messy! We spent the next few pictures at Nana's.

Swinging with Aunt Victoria until she fell asleep.

And then her expression in this picture just cracks me up.

Then we celebrated daddy's First Father's Day. C made her daddy this card and it wasn't easy.

We didn't get to take a picture with daddy on Sunday, but this picture from today sums up how she feels about her dad. The feeling is reciprocated by her dad. He thinks she's pretty special.

And our new favorite thing to do.. Watch Mickey Mouse! She loves Donald Duck's voice.

We took a walk with Bruce and Libby and then Libby got tired.. Notice where she ended up. Never a dull moment with her. Caroline doesn't mind though.. She loves to watch the dogs.

We love our little happy, energetic four month old! I know I will look back on this post one day and just smile.

Boo shots!

This little chubby sugar cake is FOUR months old today! I have been way too busy and sleep deprived to do her four month post yet (typing this one on my break at work) but I can't wait. Miss Priss might not require much sleep and is driving mama cray-cray but we still love her to the moon and back! Daddy is with her this morning while I am at work and has to get himself and her ready for her four month checkup at 9:30. Prayers are going up for daddy. :) She gets two more shots today (I believe) and I just can't stand not being with her all day afterwards. She didn't sleep hardly at all and was fussy after her two month shots so I tried to plan it on a Friday so I would be off the next two days after her shots in case she didn't sleep any. Hoping for a somewhat positive day. If not... There's always tomorrow.

Snaps for Days

These are the last few days of C being three months old! I could share iPhone snapshots of her forever.

Visits from Granny... My favorite times.

Naps with mama... Also another favorite time.

She looks so much like my baby pictures in this picture.

We love being goofballs. :)

This face is one of my favorites as well.

Licking my Popsicle from Steel City Pops.

Shopping day with Gaga!

Friday this girl will be four months old and mama can't wait to see what month four brings.
