10 Months Old

10 Months Old

Happy Ten Months, Caroline!

Caroline turned ten months old on December 19th, my 27th birthday. Now the time is really flying. I can't believe that she will be one year old in less than two months now. I keep saying it every month, Caroline is getting to be so much fun. Kyle and I share so much love for her. We find ourselves talking about her even when she isn't with us.

At ten months old, Caroline is crawling and pulling up everywhere. She loves to pull up to the couch and coffee table (which once had a long basket with candles and a lantern-now is empty.) She hasn't taken a step yet but will push her new Christmas toys around the living room and stand alone for a few seconds. She loves the television. She watches full episodes of Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Her crush is Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates and she literally blushes when he talks. She stays at home with me, Kyle, and my mom, but Kyle keeps her the most on his 48 hours off and they have quite the routine established. She is running full strides in her walker and follows me everywhere.

She sleeps around 9 -10 hours a night and take a couple of good naps a day. We have a bad night thrown in the mix every once in a while (like last night-waking at 2 am.) She will eat pretty much anything and we try to make her eat her veggies most days! She also loves macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and spaghetti noodles! She still only says "guh, uh-oh, and mama." Daddy is working really hard on "da-da", but he hasn't been successful yet.

She has her two bottom teeth, and her top left (I think!) tooth is starting to come in very slowly. I love when she grins and I can see her two bottom teeth! She loves riding in the shopping cart and she yells/screams at everyone in most stores. Her hair is growing very fast and it seems to have the brillo-pad texture of her dad's hair with a few curls thrown in. She only says "mama" when she is very sleepy and whiny. She squeals and screams the loudest anytime Libby is near her or when we take her out back to see the big dogs. They all three love her to pieces.

To sum it up, the time is really flying now and we are enjoying life with her very much so! Our ten month little photo shoot was pretty eventful with her trying to pull up everywhere.

Caroline, life with you is full of so much JOY! :)

Some pictures from this past month with Caroline!

"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

Praying this verse over my daughter… that she may establish a relationship with the Lord and be found in his favor. Can't wait to see what month 11 brings!

Caroline Meets Santa

On October 30th, we met Santa and Mrs. Claus at Sandy O'Dells and boy was it fun. (YES we met Santa before Halloween AND Thanksgiving but thats how you do it these days in order to get cards out in time!) We did Sandy's "Christmas Mini" and I was pretty nervous about how she would react to Santa, but it turned out wonderful! Mrs. Sandy doesn't mess around when she wants good pictures…she knows what she is doing.

We have decided not to go present crazy with Caroline this Christmas for two reasons:
1) Her birthday is in February!
2) For the obvious- she will only be ten months old!
An added third reason:
3) Her nana buys her something every time they go to Wal-Mart while I'm at work. :)

Being a newer mother brings something so special to the holidays, especially at Christmas. I feel that I can so closely relate to Mary and can't imagine everything she went through, much less being the mother to the Savior of the world. This Christmas I am holding perspective ever-so-closely and remembering the real reason behind all of the hustle and bustle…the birth of Jesus.

"She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21
